An electromagnetic plasma-dynamic system and method for producing high-power plasma flows at atmospheric pressure with high frequency has been developed. In this system, plasma flow velocity reaches 2-4 × 10 3 m/s at temperatures up to 20 × 10 3 K. This paper reports results from evaluation of this system for surface layer modification and processing with very high particle acceleration.

A new laser thermal spraying method has been developed and experimentally realized. The new method makes possible independent energy input to the powder stream and workpiece using conical laser beams and thus is more efficient than other methods. The new method offers environmental benefits in comparison to other techniques.

In the world, automobile rim production is carried out in a repeatable quality with low pressure die casting process. Traditional die coatings used to separate molds on casting mold surfaces cause significant losses in production due to their weak strength. The applicability of an alternative mold coating application with thermal sprayings has been examined in this study. MgO-ZrO 2 based ceramic thermal barrier coatings are deposited on the mold surfaces by flexicord spray method.

In this study abrasive wear resistance of NiCrBSi self-fluxing alloys claddings reinforced by tungsten carbide (up to 80 vol.%) and pure tungsten (up to 50 vol.%) was compared. For this purpose, metal matrix composite samples were cladded by diode laser then metallography studies and hardness measurements were provided. Finally, all specimens passed ASTM G65 abrasion test and their wear resistance was compared to alternatives claddings.

for content titled, Durability of Low Pressure Plasma Sprayed MoB/CoCr Coating in Molten Al-12.07wt%Si Alloy
MoB/CoCr, a novel material for thermal spraying, with high durability is used to resist erosion by molten Al-12.07wt%Si alloy. The durability of the MoB/CoCr coating prepared by low pressure plasma spraying (LPPS) has been investigated using a molten-metal immersion tester. The test revealed that the MoB/CoCr coating has much higher durability without dissolution in the molten Al-12.07wt%Si alloy. Little change of crystal structure, mainly composed of ternary borides of Co 2 MoB 2 and CoMoB, is observed after the immersion test, suggesting that the ternary borides have much higher durability.
