This article reproduces the results of a study in which the interaction between high-speed solid particles and the substrate in the cold gas process was investigated. Based on the experimentally determined data on the individual deformation of particles adhering to the substrate surface, the impact of the particles and some parameters in the contact zone were analyzed analytically and numerically (deformable particles on a solid surface). The results of the numerical model for determining the dynamic deformation behavior of the particles, as well as the experimental findings, have shown that the metal flows in a radial direction at high speed near the substrate surface.
