The aim of this paper is to develop a model that describes the heating of the porous aluminum oxide particles in the plasma jet of the APS process. The initial calculation of the sintering time of this fine particle in solid and liquid phase states (1800 K) is estimated. This time is in the range of seconds for sintering in the solid state and in the range of nano seconds for sintering in the liquid state. It is found that the effect of sintering within a particle during its flight in the plasma jet can be neglected. The calculation of the temperatures on the surface, the center, and the point of the melt front is carried out for particles with more or less porosity. Paper includes a German-language abstract.
