Cold and Hot Forging: Fundamentals and Applications
This chapter discusses the classification and characteristics of manufacturing processes producing industrial products as well as military components and consumer goods. Four main characteristics of any manufacturing process discussed are geometry, tolerances, production rates, and human and environmental factors. The chapter also describes some of the important areas of application of workpieces produced by metal forming, underlining their technical significance.
