The ASM Materials Education Foundation is on the verge of awarding the 100th scholarship made possible by the generosity of Dr. George A. Roberts, FASM. This article reviews some of the accomplishments of Dr. George A. Roberts and discusses the role he played in initiating the scholarship program named in his honor.
