About Advances in Materials for Power Plants

The International Conference on Advances in Materials, Manufacturing & Repair for Power Plants is the premier global technical and networking event for researchers and practitioners involved in developing, applying, commercializing, and evaluating materials for power generation equipment. The series began with conferences on advances in materials for thermal electric power generation. Recent events cover the convergence of materials, manufacturing, and repair technology across conventional thermal power generation and nuclear power, and papers address developments in gas turbines, advanced power generation cycles (A-USC and sCO2), concentrating solar thermal power, and advanced nuclear technology. Materials, particularly high-temperature materials, are key enabling technologies driving the development of high-efficiency power conversion technology.

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) has organized an international conference on advanced materials technology for power plants roughly every three years since the 1980s. ASM International has served the publisher for each proceedings volume since 2004. This site is the home for papers from past events and new events as they occur. The topic coverage has evolved with advances in technology over the years, but each volume consistently covers the latest advancements in materials, manufacturing, and repair. Each conference's program and technical content are led by EPRI and overseen by an international advisory board and a technical review committee.
