CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 443 is a heat-resisting chromium steel which stands up very well under destructive scaling conditions up to 1600 F (871 C). It is not subject to intergranular corrosion as a result of hot working, welding or continuous operation at elevated temperatures. Type 443 is comparable to the 18-8 chromium-nickel stainless steels in resistance to both corrosion and scaling but is not as though as they are nor as hard at elevated temperatures. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-391. Producer or source: Carpenter.

POTOMAC M is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium hot-work tool steel developed as a die material for aluminum-base die casting. Its superiority in pressure die casting is due to its excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, its excellent machinability and its freedom from scaling and distortion during heat treatment. Its well-balanced high-temperature mechanical properties make it useful for many other applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-318. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

for article titled, ACI TYPE HL: Heat Resistant Cast Stainless Steel
Type HL is an austenitic iron-chromium-nickel alloy similar to ACI Type HK (Alloy Digest SS-303, December 1974); however, the higher chromium content of Type HL gives it greater resistance to corrosion by hot gases, particularly those containing appreciable amounts of sulfur. Because essentially equivalent high-temperature strength can be obtained with either the HL or HK grades, the improved corrosion resistance of the HL alloy makes it especially useful for severe service where excessive scaling must be avoided. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-341.
