for article titled, STROLOY 5C: High Strength, Low Alloy Steel
STROLOY 5C is a high yield strength alloy steel that is furnished in the water quenched and tempered condition. It is used where good weldability, ductility and toughness are required. It can be welded readily by prescribed are welding procedures and is used in a variety of welded structures such as crane booms and portable drilling rigs. It is supplied as tubing and shapes; for details see Forms Available. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-213. Producer or source: Babcock & Wilcox Company. Originally published July 1967, revised December 1976. See also Alloy Digest SA-410, July 1985.

... in the water-quenched-and-tempered condition. It is suited for mechanical and construc- tional applications. Some of the most common uses include such large welded structures as crane booms, drag-lines and portable drilling rigs. This grade possesses greater notch toughness properties than low- alloy or carbon...

for article titled, STROLOY 5C: High Strength Low Alloy Steel
STROLOY 5C is a high-strength low-alloy steel developed for seamless hot-or-cold finished tubing and extruded shapes in the water-quenched-and-tempered condition. In this condition the steel exhibits high tensile and yield strengths and good ductility. It can be are welded readily using the procedures prescribed by the manufacturer. Preheat, postheat and stress relief normally are not required. Stroloy 5C tubing is used for applications requiring a good combination of strength, toughness and weldability. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-410. Producer or source: Babcock & Wilcox Company. See also Alloy Digest SA-213, revised December 1976.

..., draglines and portable drilling rigs. Manufacturer: Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Products Division Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania 15010. Stroloy 2A steel can be hot worked readily by heating to 2100-23000F before forging or rolling. Such thermal handling would, however, require quenching and tempering following...
