MITTAL DI-FORM 140T and HB T965 are low carbon steels with dual phase manganese and silicon composition. Dual-phase (DP) steel microstructures typically consist of a soft ferrite phase with dispersed islands of a hard martensite phase. The martensite phase is substantially stronger than the ferrite phase. The dual-phase grades, including those with high tensile strengths of 965 MPa (140 ksi), that are designed for forming (DI-FORM), also have low yield-strength-to-tensile-strength ratios to improve formability. This datasheet provides information on microstructure and tensile properties as well as deformation and fatigue. It also includes information on forming and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-566. Producer or source: Mittal Steel USA Flat Products.

AL TECH HURON is a cold-work tool steel developed for applications requiring high resistance to wear or to abrasion and for resistance to heavy pressure rather than to sudden shock. Because of these qualities and its good nondeforming properties, it is unsurpassed (for an oil-hardening tool steel) for die work on long production runs. It has superior depth of hardening. Its many applications include cold trimmer dies, lamination dies, plug gages, slitting cutters and blanking, stamping and cold-forming dies and punches for long runs. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and compressive strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-481. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

AIRKOOL is a high-hardenability (deep-hardening) tool and die steel that is intermediate in abrasion resistance between the oil-hardening and high-carbon high-chromium tool steels. It possesses superior toughness to both of these types; furthermore, AIRKOOL can be machined readily and has excellent non-deforming characteristics. It is well suited for applications requiring toughness and fairly high resistance to abrasion. Typical applications for AIRKOOL include blanking dies, forming dies, punches and shear blades.
