AMBRALOY 687 is a copper-zinc-aluminum-arsenic alloy. It is effectively inhibited against dezincification by the small but strictly regulated addition of arsenic (nominally 0.04%). It is superior to Admiralty Metal (Copper Alloys No. C44300, C44400 and C44500) where water is contaminated by sewage, where velocities are higher than normal, and where impingement is more severe than normal. Typical uses are condenser and heat-exchanger tubes, distiller tubes and ferrules. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-459. Producer or source: ARCO Metals Company, American Brass. See also Alloy Digest Cu-213, March 1970.

ABEX PACE is a modified high-chromium iron alloy. Its composition is balanced to achieve a unique microstructure. PACE (Protection Against Corrosion/Erosion) was developed to replace stainless steels and abrasion-resistant alloys in applications where abrasive and corrosive environments exist simultaneously. Its predecessor, ABEX SPA ALLOY (Alloy Digest CI-47, January 1979), achieved remarkable results in a limited acid pH range, but the PACE alloy extends these properties to all environments, and incorporates enhanced machinability. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as joining. Filing Code: CI-52. Producer or source: Abex Corporation, Engineered Products Division.

Copper Alloy No. C72200 was developed to improve on the performance of the copper-nickel condenser tube alloys. It is essentially 85-15 copper-nickel with additions of 0.8% iron, 0.5% chromium and 0.5% manganese. It has exceptionally high resistance to erosion and corrosion by flowing seawater. Its strength and other mechanical properties are similar to the older copper-nickel alloys (90-10 and 70-30). Alloy C72200 is used primarily for condenser and heat-exchanger tubing using seawater and for salt-water piping. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-449. Producer or source: Copper and copper alloy mills.

ELKONITE G13, G14, 1060, 3042 and 3150 tungsten carbide-silver alloys have good erosion resistance and low contact resistance. The major characteristics are superior resistance to contact welding or sticking and excellent corrosion resistance. Tungsten carbide is a hard, chemically inert material and has a lower rate of oxidation than tungsten, The tungsten carbide-silver Elkonites are resistant to corrosion in high-humidity atmospheres and are superior to the other Elkonite materials in that respect. They vary in composition from 33 to 60 percent tungsten carbide by weight. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness. Filing Code: W-23. Producer or source: CMW Inc.

ELKONITE G17, G18, 7065, and 7165 silver silver alloys contain molybdenum as the refractory metal. Molybdenum has a lower density than tungsten and is less resistant to arc erosion. Molybdenum-silver Elkonites exhibit self-cleaning properties when subjected to arching during switching. The arc breaks down the molybdenum oxide at temperatures above 795 degrees C (1465 degrees F). This helps maintain low contact resistance. The molybdenum-silver Elkonites are susceptible to corrosion in high atmospheres and are not recommended where they will encounter this type of environment. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and bend strength. Filing Code: MO-18. Producer or source: CMW Inc.
