Mittal Di-Form T500 is a dual-phase steel intended primarily for exposed outer automotive body panels (door, hoods, and fenders). Dual-phase steels are one of the important advanced high-strength steel products developed for the automotive industry. Their microstructure typically consists of a soft ferrite phase with dispersed islands of a hard martensite phase. The martensite phase is substantially stronger than the ferrite phase. The Di-Form grades exhibit low yield-to-tensile strength ratios and the name corresponds to the tensile strength. This datasheet provides information on tensile properties as well as deformation and fatigue. It also includes information on forming and joining. Filing Code: SA-556. Producer or source: Mittal Steel USA Flat Products.

AISI 4032 is a molybdenum alloy steel of moderate hardenability. It is used extensively in the automotive industry. This steel combines moderate strength and hardness with good ductility and toughness in the quenched-and-tempered condition because it is relatively free from temper embrittlement when tempered in the range 850-1100 F. Among its many uses are nuts, bolts, studs, machinery parts and fasteners for the transportation and other industries. AISI 4032H is a similar steel except that it has a slightly wider range of carbon and manganese. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-411. Producer or source: Alloy steel mills and foundries.

Dual-phase steels are most commonly used in structural applications where they have replaced more conventional HSLA steels. They offer a great opportunity for part weight reduction. The improved formability, capacity to absorb crash energy, and ability to resist fatigue have driven this substitution. Applications include front and rear rails, crush cans, rocker reinforcements, pillar reinforcements, inner and outer cowl, back panels, cross members, bumpers, and door intrusion beams. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as deformation. It also includes information on forming and joining.
