ALUMINUM A206.0 is a high-strength aluminum casting alloy. It provides an optimum combination of strength, light weight and economy. Its performance approaches that of forged steel, yet it may be less expensive to use because its lower tooling costs often offset the price difference. In automotive applications, the lighter weight of A206.0 can save fuel and increase range. See also Aluminum A201, Alloy Digest Al-234, April 1979. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Al-244. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.

TIMETAL 15-3 is a metastable beta titanium alloy that offers substantial weight reductions over other engineering materials. In the solution treated condition, it has excellent cold formability; in the aged condition, it has high strength. TIMETAL 15-3 is usually acceptable for use at temperatures up to 550 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming and heat treating. Filing Code: Ti-101. Producer or source: Titanium Metals Corporation (Timet).

ATI 425 was originally developed for hot-rolled armor plate to provide ballistic protection comparable to Ti-6Al-4V and has been evaluated against a variety of projectile threats for use as armor. While processing the alloy for armor plate applications, it was observed that the material exhibited very good hot workability, permitting a more lenient window of processing parameters than necessary for Ti-6Al-4V. Versatility then expanded, and applications now exist in the chemical process industry (CPI) and in the aerospace industry. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance. Filing Code: TI-133. Producer or source: ATI Wah Chang, Allegheny Technologies. Originally published March 2004, revised July 2004.
