COLUMBIA SPECIAL is the manufacturer's highest quality best grade of water-hardening tool steel. It contains small amounts of chromium and vanadium. Its manufacture is controlled closely to insure uniform predictable hardenability. When brine quenched it develops a uniform high-hardness case of medium depth with a tough shock-dampening core. It is noted for its combination of high resistance to abrasion and high toughness. COLUMBIA SPECIAL'S many applications include dies for many uses, reamers, taps, drills, punches, gages and wood knives. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-466. Producer or source: Columbia Tool Steel Company.

CARPENTER H-9 DOUBLE HEADER DIE STEEL was developed specifically to solve chipping, splitting, spalling and cracking in cold header die applications. All billets are acid disc inspected to ensure center soundness and they are tested for hardenability. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-449. Producer or source: Carpenter.

CarTech L6 is an oil-hardening, high-carbon (0.70%), nickel-chromium, alloy cold-work tool steel. It is suitable for short run tooling in applications where a combination of high hardness and good toughness is required. The relatively high nickel content results in an alloy with greater impact toughness compared to the other common oil-hardening grades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-800. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

CarTech A6, also known as CarTech Vega, is an air-hardening, high-carbon (0.70%), Mn-Cr-Mo, alloy cold-work tool steel. It combines the deep-hardening and minimum size change characteristics of air-hardening tool steels with the simplicity of low-temperature heat treatment possible in many oil-hardening tool steels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-803. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.
