for article titled, AISI TYPE P20: Mold and Die Steel
AISI Type P20 is a chromium-molybdenum tool steel of medium carbon content. It usually is supplied in the prehardened condition (about 300 Brinell) so that the cavity can be machined and the mold or die placed directly in service; however, for some uses further treatments are employed. It is produced to high-quality tool-steel standards to permit a high luster to be achieved on the surface of the polished die cavity. P20 is used for molds for plastics and for die-casting dies for zinc and other low-temperature casting alloys. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-393. Producer or source: Tool steel mills.

for article titled, UHB IMPAX P20: Mold Steel, Type P20
UHB IMPAX P20 is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum tool steel for molds. It is supplied in the prehardened condition, so that the mold cavity can be machined and the mold placed directly in service. It is used for molds for plastics and die-casting molds for zinc, lead and tin alloys. (See update, IMPAX SUPREME, Alloy Digest TS-497, March 1989.) This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-326. Producer or source: Uddeholm Aktiebolag.
