FAGERSTA M-7 is a molybdenum-type high-speed steel similar to AISI Type M1, but with higher percentages of carbon and vanadium than M1. The higher levels of carbon and vanadium provide an improved cutting efficiency without significantly lowering toughness. The many applications of FAGERSTA M-7 include boring tools, end mills, lathe tools, twist drills, thread-rolling dies and wood-working tools. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. AL Tech LMW-V is a molybdenum-type high-speed steel used extensively by domestic cutting-tool makers. It was designed to offer increased wear resistance while retaining the toughness characteristic of molybdenum-type high-speed steels. It is suitable for a wide variety of cutting-tool applications where improved resistance to abrasion is desired. Typical applications include twist dri milling cutters. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-353. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

VASCO M-7 is a molybdenum type of high-speed steel having tungsten, chromium and molybdenum contents similar to AISI Type MI high-speed steel, but with higher carbon and vanadium. The increased percentages of carbon and vanadium add to the cutting efficiency of the steel without materially lessening the toughness. This steel has met with considerable favor among high-speed steel users who are seeking improved cutting properties for specific applications. Its many applications include drills, end mills, milling cutters, punches and shear blades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-379. Producer or source: Teledyne Vasco.

GUTERL M-7 is a molybdenum type of high-speed steel. It is somewhat similar to AISI Type M1 tool steel but with higher percentages of carbon and vanadium to provide an improvement over M1 in cutting characteristics without a significant loss in toughness. It is used widely for cutting-tool applications that require improved resistance to abrasion. Its many uses include reamers, twist drills, taps, lathe tools, end mills and punches. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. TATMO V-N is an AISI Type M7 high-speed steel modified by alloy balancing and a nitrogen addition to develop superior hardness response in heat treatment. It is an excellent grade for many cutting-tool applications requiring an optimum balance of red hardness, edge toughness and wear resistance, such as drills, taps, end mills, reamers and milling cutters. Its combination of outstanding properties and high hardness makes Tatmo V-N a logical alternate for cobalt high-speed steels in many cutting-tool applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-452. Producer or source: Latrobe Steel Company.

CARPENTER SEVEN STAR is a molybdenum-type high-speed steel containing tungsten. It bears some similarity to AISI Type M1; however, its increased carbon and vanadium percentages (over M1) provide improved cutting efficiency without materially lowering its toughness. Seven Star is an ESR (Electro Slag Remelted) high-speed steel. Its many uses include blanking dies, drills, lathe tools, punches and shearing blades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. TATMO-V is a high-speed tool steel with superior abrasion resistance because of its high contents of carbon and vanadium. It is an excellent choice for premium grade tools which require an outstanding balance of red hardness, edge toughness, and wear resistance. Increased tool life of Tatmo-V is noted in the machining of semi-hard, heat-treated steel pats (300-350 Brinell). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-434. Producer or source: Latrobe Steel Company.
