J and L Type 409NI is a ferritic stainless steel with 11% Cr. It exhibits an excellent combination of good formability, economy, and resistance to oxidation and corrosion. It is typically used in automotive exhaust systems or where more forming is required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming and joining. Filing Code: SS-902. Producer or source: J & L Specialty Steel Inc.

ALZ 409Ni is a ferritic stainless steel with approximately 11% CR. It belongs to the family of lowest alloyed stainless steels. The chromium content has been chosen to be on the threshold of formation of the passivation layer. It has an oxidation and corrosion resistance that is much better than that of mild steel, but cannot be compared with the corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. Filing Code: SS-834. Producer or source: ALZ nv.

AK Steel 409 Ni is a 11% chromium ferritic stainless steel microalloyed with titanium and nickel. It provides excellent weldability, toughness, and fabricating characteristics superior to those of type 409 stainless steel in thicknesses over 3.05 mm (0.120 in.). This alloy is a cost effective alternative to mild steels and low-alloy steels that also provides superior corrosion and/or oxidation resistance. The recommended maximum service temperature of AK Steel 409 Ni is 730 °C (1350 °F). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating and joining. Filing Code: SS-1336. Producer or source: AK Steel Corporation.
