CarTech 321 is a titanium-stabilized chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel that was developed to provide the performance of an 18-8 austenitic stainless steel with improved intergranular corrosion resistance. Since titanium has a stronger affinity for carbon than chromium, titanium carbide tends to precipitate randomly within the grains instead of forming continuous patterns at the grain boundaries. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1338. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

Armco 321 is an austenitic nickel-stainless-steel with the carbon stabilized by titanium for welding and elevated temperature service. It is useful when the weldment is not annealed after welding. This alloy is nonmagnetic when annealed but is slightly magnetic when cold worked. It has excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation, possesses high creep strength, and may be used at temperatures up to 871 C (1600 F). Titanium is added to this alloy to impart substantial immunity to intergranular corrosion. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-810. Producer or source: AK Steel Inc.

Sandvik 8R30 is an austenitic, titanium-stabilized stainless chromium-nickel steel. It is suitable for wet-corrosive service, but also has good mechanical strength at high temperatures. For applications requiring enhanced creep strength, it is recommended that the variant Sandvik 8R30H be used. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-622. Producer or source: Sandvik.

EASTERN STAINLESS Type 321 is a titanium-bearing steel designed to be free from the harmful chromium carbide precipitation (and associated intergranular corrosion) after welding or after an extended period of time in the sensitizing temperature range (800-1600 F). Type 321 is used primarily within this sensitizing (damaging) temperature range; however, its carbon combines preferentially with titanium leaving chromium in solution to maintain full corrosion resistance. Among its applications are high-temperature steam service, chemical plants and heavy-duty aircraft exhaust manifolds. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-396. Producer or source: Eastern Stainless Steel Company.
