Carlson alloys 317L, 317L 4, and 317L 4N are a family of superior corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steels for service in severe envi-ronments. They maintain tensile and creep-rupture strength at elevated temperatures and are resistant to intergranular attack. These alloys are widely used in air-pollution control systems, pulp and paper plants, and chemical and petrochemical processing equipment. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-846. Producer or source: G.O. Carlson Inc.

Avesta Polarit 317LMN is a low-carbon, higher-molybdenum austenitic steel frequently used for flue gas desulfurization service. The alloy is a fully austenitic stainless steel with excellent resistance to corrosion in chloride environments and nonoxidizing acids. It is significantly stronger than most low-carbon stainless steels and its structural stability makes for good weldability. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-465. Producer or source: AvestaPolarit AB. Originally published as Avesta Stainless 34LN, October 1985, revised July 2001.

REMANIT 4439 is a highly corrosion resistant steel with low carbon content, an addition of nitrogen to enhance both mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, and higher molybdenum than most stainless steels to resist pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride media. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-556. Producer or source: Thyssen Stahl AG.

TYPE 317L, 317LX, and 317LXN are austenitic alloys with varying molybdenum and nitrogen contents and thus have varying levels of resistance to pitting corrosion. All are low carbon to resist sensitization. All three alloys are intended for severe service conditions such as flue gas desulfurization systems. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-542. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
