Type 301 (UNS S30100) is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel capable of attaining high tensile strength and ductility by cold working. It is not hardenable by heat treatment. Type 301 is essentially nonmagnetic in the annealed condition and becomes magnetic with cold deformation. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-775. Producer or source: J & L Specialty Steel Inc.

Allegheny Ludlum type 301 is the basic 18-8 chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with both chromium and nickel content lower than types 302 and 304. The steel is capable of attaining high tensile strength with good ductility by moderate or severe cold working. A typical application is conveyor belts in the food processing industry. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating. Filing Code: SS-723. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.

ALZ 301 is an austenitic stainless steel with good cold formability, toughness and high mechanical properties. Its corrosion resistance is similar to that of ALZ 304. Because of its higher carbon content, the risk for sensitization during welding is higher. Therefore, its use is limited when substantial welding is necessary. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-816. Producer or source: ALZ nv.

Atlas 301 is a high work-hardening rate austenitic stainless steel. It can be supplied with a tensile strength of up to and over 1300 MPa (189 ksi) in strip and wire forms, to produce tempers in the range of 1/16 Hard to Full Hard. The controlled analysis of Atlas 301 enables it to retain sufficient ductility in conditions up to 1/2 Hard and allows it to be roll or brake formed into aircraft, architectural, and particularly rail car structural components. However, 3/4 Hard to Full Hard tempers should be used whenever high wear resistance and spring features are required in components of simple form designs. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1349. Producer or source: Atlas Steel.

AK Steel Type 301 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that provides high strength and good ductility when cold worked. It is a modification of Type 302, in which the chromium and nickel contents are lowered to increase the cold-work-hardening range. This permits higher tensile strengths to be achieved by rolling with a lower loss of ductility than with Type 302. The high-strength properties of Type 301 make it ideally suited to structural and transportation applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-861. Producer or source: AK Steel Corporation.
