CarTech 201 Modified is a nitrogen-strengthened, chromium-manganese-nickel, austenitic stainless steel that provides substantially higher yield and tensile strength than CarTech 304, and has general-corrosion resistance between that of CarTech 430 and CarTech 304. Compared with CarTech 201 (UNS S20100), CarTech 201 Modified has a lower nickel content, which results in higher-strength levels after cold working. This datasheet provides information on composition and physical properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1319. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

ATI 201 HP is a 200-series, Cr-Mn-Ni austenitic stainless steel. It is comparable to the Cr-Ni stainless steel types 301, 304, and 304L in many respects, and can even provide some advantages over the 18-8 grades in certain applications. Because it possess a very desirable combination of economy plus good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, it has been used in a wide variety of consumer and transportation applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1332. Producer or source: ATI.

J and L type 201 stainless steel is an austenitic alloy with approximately 6.5% manganese. The nickel and chromium contents are lower than typical to allow more work hardening and to obtain high tensile strengths with excellent ductility. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-768. Producer or source: J & L Specialty Steel Inc.

Allegheny Ludlum Type 201 stainless steel has many properties similar to Type 301 and provides excellent strength and formability. Together, Type 201 and Type 201L (see Alloy Digest SS-825, July 2001) account for the greatest tonnage of Cr-Ni-Mn 200 series stainless steels. A typical application is washing machine baskets. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-997. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum. See also Alloy Digest SS-616, October 1995.
