Mar-X is a precipitation-hardening, stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance for both atmospheric and chemical attack. The heat response characteristics of this grade provide especially good welding characteristics. Absence of hardening in the weld heat-affected zone (HAZ) offers improved blending characteristics and reduced cracking potential in welded areas. The material is supplied in the solution-treated condition with a hardness of approximately 321 HB (34 HRC). It may be age hardened with a simple thermal treatment to a hardness of 40+ HRC. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness. It also includes information on heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-922. Producer or source: A. Finkl & Sons Company.

CARPENTER 15Cr-5Ni offers high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Similar to Carpenter Custom 630 (17Cr-4Ni) in composition and properties, Carpenter 15Cr-5Ni is chemically balanced to eliminate all but trace amounts of delta ferrite, thus providing superior transverse toughness and ductility plus a higher degree of forgeability. Its wide range of uses include valve parts, engine parts and aircraft components; it is especially useful where high transverse strength and toughness are required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-346. Producer or source: Carpenter.

UNILOY 15-5 can be annealed (solution treated) to produce a martensite-austenite mixture and then aged to various levels of hardness and strength. It offers a broad range of mechanical properties. It is consumable remelted to improve cleanliness and mechanical properties. Normally, bars are supplied solution-treated (Condition A), machined very near to the finished dimensions and then age hardened. The many applications of Uniloy 15-5 include valves and fittings, gears, shafting, springs, and bearings. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: SS-434. Producer or source: Cyclops.
