Lucefin C60, C60E, and C60R are high-carbon, non-alloy steels that are used in the normalized, cold worked, or quenched and tempered condition. C60E and C60R may also be flame or induction hardened. C60, C60E, and C60R are used for applications where the higher carbon is needed to improve wear characteristics and where strength levels required are higher than those attainable with the lower carbon grades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: CS-213. Producer or source: Lucefin S.p.A.

SAE 1060 is a high-carbon steel of low hardenability; it may be used in the as-rolled, annealed, normalized or liquid-quenched-and-tempered condition, depending on the desired properties. It is normally hardened by austenitizing and quenching in oil; however, it may be quenched in water if precautions are taken to prevent cracking. Its many uses include springs, hand tools, heavy machinery parts, shafts and agricultural machinery. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: CS-116. Producer or source: Carbon steel mills.

1059, 1060, C60, C60E, and C60R are wrought high-carbon non-alloy steels that are used in the normalized, cold worked, quenched and tempered, or austempered condition. 1059, 1060, C60E, and C60R may also be flame or induction hardened. These steels are widely used for moderately and highly stressed parts that require higher strength levels than can be achieved by the lower carbon grades, and where the expense of an alloy steel is not justified. They are also used for applications where the higher carbon is needed to improve wear characteristics. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: CS-220. Producer or source: Data Survey.

1059, 1060, C60, C60E, and C60R are wrought high-carbon (carbon = 0.55–0.65%) non-alloy steels that are used in the normalized, cold worked, quenched and tempered, or austempered condition. 1059, 1060, C60E, and C60R may also be flame or induction hardened, nitrided, or nitrocarburized. These steels are widely used for moderately and highly stressed parts that require higher strength levels than can be achieved by the lower carbon grades, and where the expense of an alloy steel is not justified. They are also used for applications where the higher carbon is needed to improve wear characteristics. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming and heat treating. Filing Code: CS-259.
