Wieland C23000 (C230), also known as red brass, is an 85Cu-15Zn alloy. The alloy has excellent cold forming properties and is generally not susceptible to dezincification and stress corrosion. Due to this combination of properties and its attractive color, the alloy is used for decorative purposes as well as for a wide variety of drawn and formed parts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating. MUELLER Alloy 2300 is an alpha brass containing 15% zinc. It has good physical and mechanical properties, excellent cold-working characteristics and a pleasing red color. Its low zinc content makes it resistant to dezincification and it is more resistant to stress-corrosion cracking than brasses with higher zinc contents. ANACONDA Alloy 230 is a single-phase brass containing nominally 85% copper and 15% zinc. It is the most widely used of the low-zinc brasses. It has excellent resistance to dezincification and season cracking. Generally it is considered to be the most durable of all alloys for commercial water pipe in the practical price range. Other uses include architectural components, electrical conduit, paper rolls, razor handles and costume jewelry.
