TIMETAL 10-2-3 is a high fracture toughness titanium-base alloy. It is metallurgically near-beta and is capable of attaining a wide variety of strength levels, depending uopn the selection of heat treatment. Major advantages of this alloy are: (1) Its excellent forgeability, (2) Its high toughness in air and salt-water environments and (3) Its high hardenability which provides good properties in sections up to five inches thick. It is used in the aerospace industry for applications up to 600 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive, shear, and bearing strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ti-80. Producer or source: Titanium Metals Corporation (Timet). Originally published as Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al, December 1980, revised October 1992.

TIMETAL 62S, because iron is used for the beta stabilizer in lieu of more expensive elements, has a lower formulation cost than most titanium alloys, yet the properties and processing characteristics of Ti-6A1-2Fe-0. 1Si are equivalent to or better than those of the workhorses of the titanium industry, including Ti-6A1-4V. The combination of reasonable cost and excellent mechanical properties make TIMETAL 62S a practical substitute for other engineering materials in numerous industrial applications that require low weight and high corrosion resistance. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on heat treating. TIMETAL 75A is the highest-strength commercially pure sheet grade. It is readily formed at room temperature, but warm forming is frequently used to reduce springback and the power requirements. Complex forms must be made by warm forming. This material is weldable by both electrical resistance and fusion procedures, although the latter methods can be used only if the material is protected from atmospheric contamination. Machining requires a rigid tool setup, slow speed, heavy feed, sharp tools, and adequate coolant. This material is used in aircraft and chemical process applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and bend strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TI-121. Producer or source: Timet.
