Tristelle alloy TS-3 is an alloy of 35Cr-10Ni-12Co developed to withstand both corrosion and galling. This alloy relies on the formation of chromium-rich carbides during solidification. NUCALLOY 41 is a nickel-chromium-boron alloy developed as an alternative to cobalt-base alloys in applications where the presence of cobalt is undesirable. It is finding wide acceptance because of its toughness and high resistance to attack by many chemicals. It has superior wear resistance which is derived from the presence of hard nickel borides (and to a lesser extent chromium carbides) tightly held in a tough nickel-rich matrix. Among its many uses are cylinder liners, glass plant applications and valve components for nuclear applications.
