Rotelloy 5 nominally contains 50% Co and has been specially developed as a high-strength rotor material for machines operating at high speeds. The alloy is less suitable for stator applications since it has higher losses than Rotelloy 3. In some cases, this can be overcome by the use of thinner strip. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as heat treating and machining. Filing Code: FE-129. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

Rotelloy 3 has the same composition as Permandur 49 and was specifically developed for aircraft generator rotor and stator laminations. In addition to a slightly improved magnetic performance, this grade is supplied with guaranteed minimum mechanical properties. This alloy complies with requirements of ASTM A 801. It is available in strip form only. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on machining. Filing Code: FE-128. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

HS 50 alloy was developed to provide an increase of approximately 0.1 T (1000 G) in saturation magnetization compared with standard Permendur 49. The heat treatment of HS 50 can be carried out at a higher temperature, which gives increased permeability and lower coercive force. The mechanical properties are superior to those of Rotelloy 3. For applications where low loss is required, a thinner gage strip can be used to compensate for the lower resistivity compared with Rotelloy 3. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as heat treating and machining. Filing Code: FE-130. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.
