PROJECT 70 STAINLESS TYPE 303DQ is a modification of Project 70 Stainless Type 303 (Alloy Digest, SS-409, revised June 1997). Type 303DQ is designed and processed to optimize drilling and cut-thread tapping machining operations. Compared with regular Project 70 Stainless Type 303, the Type 303DQ modification will allow faster feeds and speeds, longer drill and tap life and less tap breakage. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-428. Producer or source: Carpenter.

Carpenter Project 70+ Type 303 stainless is a modified version of Carpenter Stainless No. 8. The alloy is a hardenable austenitic chromium-nickel steel and is a good general-purpose product for simple and complex parts. See also Project 70/Project 7000 stainless type 303, Alloy Digest SS-409, revised June 1997, and Project 70/Project 7000 stainless type 303DQ, Alloy Digest SS-428, June 1983. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-884. Producer or source: Carpenter Specialty Alloys.
