INDALLOY 158 is a bismuth-base, eutectic alloy that has a melting point of 158 F (70 C). It is an easily castable material that is ready for use as soon as it freezes. It can be recovered easily and recycled into new uses any number of times. Its low melting temperature and controlled-shrinkage characteristics make it of great use in industry for such applications as sprinkler and fire safety devices, support for bending pipe and tubing, anchoring aircraft parts for machining, and seals for annealing and nitriding furnaces. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Bi-27. Producer or source: Indium Corporation of America.
