CARPENTER 20Mo-6 is an austenitic stainless steel which is resistant to corrosion in hot chloride environments with low pH. It has good resistance to pitting and stress-corrosion cracking in chloride environments and is also resistant to oxidizing media. Its good resistance to corrosion has been demonstrated in both laboratory and field tests. These tests indicate that potential applications for Carpenter 20Mo-6 include environments where HASTELLOY Alloy G (Cabot Corporation) is acceptable.
