HAYNES STELLITE alloy No. 6K is a cobalt-base alloy with outstanding resistance to most types of wear. Its wear resistance is a built-in characteristic and not the result of heat-treatment, plating, nitriding, or other methods used to produce a superficial hardness on metal parts. Among its many applications are cutting knives and blades for many materials, apple-paring knives in canneries and wear strips in conveyor channels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and compressive strength. It also includes information on wear resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Co-20. Producer or source: Stellite Division, Cabot Corporation. Originally published May 1960, revised July 1978.

HAYNES STELLITE Alloy No. 6B is a cobalt-base alloy that is highly resistant to most types of wear. It has long service life even under constant erosive conditions, and it exhibits high resistance to seizure and galling even without lubricants. Its corrosion resistance is good in a wide variety of media. Its many uses include scrapper blades, screw conveyor flights and sleeves for seawater pump shafts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance, corrosion and wear resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Co-23. Producer or source: Stellite Division, Cabot Corporation. “Originally published September 1960, revised July 1979.”
