HS 50 alloy was developed to provide an increase of approximately 0.1 T (1000 G) in saturation magnetization compared with standard Permendur 49. The heat treatment of HS 50 can be carried out at a higher temperature, which gives increased permeability and lower coercive force. The mechanical properties are superior to those of Rotelloy 3. For applications where low loss is required, a thinner gage strip can be used to compensate for the lower resistivity compared with Rotelloy 3. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as heat treating and machining. Filing Code: FE-130. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 304HN is essentially a high-nitrogen version of AISI Type 304 stainless steel. By means of solid-solution strengthening, the nitrogen provides significantly higher yield strength and tensile strength as annealed than conventional Type 304, without adversely affecting ductility, corrosion resistance or nonmagnetic properties. Its applications include aircraft and aerospace components and marine hardware. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-368. Producer or source: Carpenter. Permendur 24 has a nominal composition of 24% Co and possesses the highest ductility of the cobalt-iron alloy range. Although it requires a higher magnetizing field than the 49% alloy to reach saturation, it finds applications where ductility and price are the prime considerations. It is available as strip or forged section. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on heat treating and machining. Filing Code: FE-127. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

CARPENTER 20Mo-6 is an austenitic stainless steel which is resistant to corrosion in hot chloride environments with low pH. It has good resistance to pitting and stress-corrosion cracking in chloride environments and is also resistant to oxidizing media. Its good resistance to corrosion has been demonstrated in both laboratory and field tests. These tests indicate that potential applications for Carpenter 20Mo-6 include environments where HASTELLOY Alloy G (Cabot Corporation) is acceptable. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-444. Producer or source: Carpenter.

CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 305 has higher nickel content than the austenitic stainless steels considered to be in the 18% chromium-8% nickel category. Its high nickel content lowers the rate of strain hardening and, therefore, allows severe cold forming operations without the necessity of intermediate process anneals in comparison to the common 18-8 austenitic grades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness.
