CRONIFER 2205 LCN is a low-carbon nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel with a ferritic-austenitic duplex structure. It has excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking in solutions containing chloride ions. Its resistance to pitting corrosion is good; both base metal and welded material successfully resist intergranual corrosion of the type that shows up in the Strauss test. For longtime use, the operating temperature should not exceed 300 C (572 F). The uses of CRONIFER 2205 LCN include chemical equipment and heat exchangers using seawater and/or brackish water. This datasheet provides information on composition and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-415.
