CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 430 is a chromium stainless steel that is especially useful for all types of decorative trim. This steel is suitable for trim on automobiles, cameras, vending machines, counters and showcases, electrical appliances and finished hardware in the building trade. The alloy also has many applications in both the petrochemical and chemical area. Type 430 has moderate strength and good ductility. It can be cold worked readily for producing trim and can be joined successfully by several methods. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, and deformation. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-384. Producer or source: Carpenter. CARPENTER STAINLESS No. 7-Mo is a two-phase alloy consisting of a ferritic matrix with pools of austenite. It has high resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and pitting, and good general corrosion resistance in many environments. Its principal use is for tubing and pipe in heat exchangers involving corrosive conditions. It is normally used in the annealed condition for maximum corrosion resistance and ductility. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-298. CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 443 is a heat-resisting chromium steel which stands up very well under destructive scaling conditions up to 1600 F (871 C). It is not subject to intergranular corrosion as a result of hot working, welding or continuous operation at elevated temperatures. Type 443 is comparable to the 18-8 chromium-nickel stainless steels in resistance to both corrosion and scaling but is not as though as they are nor as hard at elevated temperatures. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-391. Producer or source: Carpenter.
