CARPENTER O6 is an oil-hardening tool steel for cold-work applications. It is designed to have free graphite in the microstructure. This free graphite is responsible for the excellent machinability of this grade. Among the many applications of Carpenter O6 are dies for various uses, punches, gages, bushings, mandrels, pneumatic hammers, stamps, taps, rotary slitting cutters and wear plates. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-480. Producer or source: Carpenter.

Carpenter Project 70 stainless type 321 is a modified version of type 321 stainless steel with improved machinability when compared to conventional type 321. The alloy is a nonhardenable austenitic chromium-nickel steel that is particularly adaptable for parts for use at temperatures between 427 and 816 C (800 and 1500 F). This grade is nonmagnetic in the annealed condition but is slightly magnetic when cold worked. Among its many applications are aircraft engine exhaust manifolds, furnace parts, and fasteners. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming and machining. Filing Code: SS-729. Producer or source: Carpenter.

NITRALLOY 135 MODIFIED is a special alloy steel which can be nitrided, that is, surface hardened without final quenching by the action of ammonia gas at relatively low temperatures. (Also known as Nitralloy Type G Modified). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-24. Producer or source: Alloy steel mills and foundries.
