Pyromet 882 is an air-hardening 5% chromium tool steel recommended for high temperature applications up to 1000 F. It has extremely high tensile and creep strength. It is used for such critical applications as structural components in aircraft and missiles which require either extremely high strength (over 260,000 psi) at ambient temperature or high creep and rupture strength at temperatures of about 800 to 1200 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-152. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.
