CANNON-MUSKEGON D-2 is a high-carbon high-chromium air-hardening cast tool steel with excellent resistance to abrasion. It is moderately machinable with excellent non-deforming characteristics. The CMSX-10 superalloy is a proprietary, third-generation, single-crystal (SX) casting material. It is characterized by a 6 wt.% Re content, a relatively high refractory element level (W+Ta+Re+Mo), and a low chromium level.
