Tantalum finds its largest use in the electronics industry, where it is used in filaments, filament supports, and capacitors. Metallurgical grade tantalum is used extensively in chemical process equipment. Tantalum resists corrosion by body fluids and is used in prosthetic devices. Its high melting point gives it utility in vacuum furnace components. It is also used as an alloying element in superalloys. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ta-11. Producer or source: Cabot Corporation.

KB1-40 Alloy is a solid solution of 60% tantalum and 40% columbium (niobium). It costs much less than tantalum, yet it retains much of tantalum's excellent ability to resist chemical corrosion at high temperatures. It has higher tensile and yield strengths than tantalum and comparable ductility. Typical applications are heat exchangers, reactors, condensers and thermowells. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ta-7. Producer or source: Cabot Corporation.

HASTELLOY Alloy G-3 is a nickel-base alloy with outstanding corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition. It is an improved wrought version of HASTELLOY Alloy G. Alloy G-3 has the same excellent general corrosion resistance as Alloy G, along with improved resistance to heat-affected zone (HAZ) attack and excellent weldability. Alloy G-3 is a logical choice for many chemical applications, particularly those involving sulfuric and phosphoric acids, as well as applications where Alloy G has been used successfully. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, tensile properties, and bend strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Ni-277. Producer or source: Cabot Corporation.
