Atlas 5083 is a non-heat-treatable, Al-4.5Mg-0.7Mn-0.15Cr alloy that is known for exceptional performance in extreme environments. It is highly resistant to attack by both seawater and industrial chemicals. Atlas 5083 has the highest strength of the non-heat-treatable alloys but is not recommended for use at temperatures in excess of 65 °C (150 °F). It retains exceptional strength after welding. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and bend strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-468. Producer or source: Atlas Steels.
