ASTM B 752 Grade 705C zirconium casting alloy is basically identical in composition and similar in properties to its wrought equivalent, UNS R60705, which is grade 705. Zirconium alloys are expensive, but are more corrosion resistant than stainless steels, nickel alloys, and titanium. The largest application for zirconium alloys is in the handling of hydrochloric acid. Grade 705C is one of the common casting grades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: ZR-12. Producer or source: ATI Wah Chang, Allegheny Technologies.
