Rio Tinto 319.2 is a heat-treatable, Al-Si-Cu casting alloy (3xx.x series). It is available in the form of ingots for remelting, for the production of sand and permanent mold castings. Alloy 319.0 exhibits very good castability and pressure tightness, moderate strength, and good high-temperature properties. It offers good strength in the as-cast condition and is often used that way. However, it is possible to increase strength considerably by heat treatment. In applications that experience high temperatures, as in engine components, it is common to employ a T5, T7, or O treatment. These treatments tend to stabilize the casting and reduced dimensional changes in the component caused by high temperatures in service. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-474. Producer or source: Rio Tinto Limited.

CDA C18700 is a copper-base alloy containing lead (nominally 1.0%). The lead is added to impart free-cutting properties to the metal. Although the lead lowers the electrical conductivity of CDA C18700 slightly below that of tough-pitch copper, it still has high electrical conductivity well within the limits needed for most current-carrying requirements. Typical uses comprise electrical motor and switch parts, electrical connectors and screw-machine parts requiring high conductivity. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-533. Producer or source: Copper and copper alloy mills.

1017 and S17C are wrought low-carbon (C = 0.15–0.20%) non-alloy steels that are used in the as rolled, normalized, or cold worked condition. These steels are widely used for lightly and moderately stressed parts that require higher strength levels than can be achieved by the lower carbon grades, and also for applications where a combination of low-to-medium strength, excellent cold formability, and excellent weldability are required. They may also be used in the carburized or carbonitrided, and subsequently quench hardened and tempered condition for parts requiring a hard, wear-resistant surface, but with little need for increased mechanical properties in the core. 1016, C16E, and C16R are wrought low-carbon non-alloy steels that are used in the as rolled, normalized, or cold worked condition. These steels are widely used for lightly and moderately stressed parts that require higher strength levels than can be achieved by the lower carbon grades, and also for applications where a combination of low strength, excellent cold formability, and excellent weldability are required. They may also be used in the carburized or carbonitrided, and subsequently quench hardened and tempered condition for parts requiring a hard, wear-resistant surface, but with little need for increased mechanical properties in the core. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: CS-226. Producer or source: Data Survey.
