ALUMINUM 413.0 is normally classified as a die-casting alloy; however, it also can be used for sand and permanent-mold castings. Its high silicon content (12%) lowers its melting temperature and increases its fluidity, thus improving its castability. It is used for intricate thin-walled castings requiring pressure tightness, toughness and good resistance to corrosion. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-231. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.

ALUMINUM 518.0 is an aluminum die-casting alloy with an excellent combination of high strength and resistance to corrosion. It also has high ductility, good polishing characteristics, poor castability (it is hot short) and excellent machinability. Its uses include marine fittings, ornamental hardware, outboard motor brackets and ornamental automotive parts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-242. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.

ALUMINUM A413.0 is a high-silicon (nominally 12%), aluminum-base alloy. It is recommended for applications where excellent castability and resistance to corrosion are required. Typical uses comprise miscellaneous thin-walled and intricately designed castings for such items as meter cases and automobile fittings. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-251. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.
