ALUMINUM 2117 is an aluminum alloy that ages naturally after solution treatment. It has a good combination of strength, ductility and formability. It has fair resistance to general corrosion but needs protection in corrosive environments. Aluminum 2117 can be used in service up to 575 F and is used widely for high-strength rivets. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-158. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies. Originally published September 1966, revised November 1979.

ALUMINUM 5052 is nominally an aluminum-magnesium-chromium alloy which cannot be hardened by heat treatment; however, it can be strain hardened by cold working. It combines good workability with good fatigue strength and high corrosion resistance to the atomsphere and to salt water. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-39. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies. Originally published May 1956, revised June 1971, revised June 1973.
