ALLEGHENY LUDLUM AL 29-4-2 alloy is a high-purity ferritic stainless steel designated to provide superior resistance to corrosion by aggressive environments. It also offers fabrication characteristics that (along with E-BRITE Alloy) are unique among highly alloyed ferritic materials. The combination of properties available in AL 29-4-2 alloy makes it an attractive, cost-effective alternative to titanium, high-nickel and nickel-base alloys for many harsh environments. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-480. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
