ALCOA 6010 ALLOY offers the potential for lighter weight panels than steel or other aluminum alloy auto body sheet. It provides comparable performance, compatibility with existing production processes and a reasonable cost per unit of weight saved. It provides better dent resistance than most other aluminum body sheet alloys and mild steel of equal gage. Alloy 6010 formability is equal to that of 2036- T4 while offering greater strength. Scrap compatibility eliminates the segregation problems of mixed 2xxx and 5xxx scrap. Alloy 6010 scrap is readily recycled into itself or into casting alloys. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Al-264. Producer or source: Aluminum Company of America.

ALCOA 7029 ALLOY sheet and extrusions are used for manufacture of bright anodized bumper face bars. ALLOY 7129, having similar mechanical properties, should be specified when a chrome-plated, painted or clear-coated finish is required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Al-278. Producer or source: Aluminum Company of America.

ALCOA 2036 ALLOY was the first modern commercially acceptable aluminum autobody sheet alloy. It has been widely used in outer panel applications. It has moderate strength and formability and good strength after forming when no benefit can be expected from subsequent primer paint bake thermal cycles. It is not susceptible to Luders or stretcher-strain lines. See also AA 2036, Alloy Digest Al-300, October 1989 This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Al-267. Producer or source: Aluminum Company of America.
