Alcan 6056 alloy is an Al-Si-Mg-Zn-Cu-Mn weldable alloy, developed to provide medium strength similar to the incumbent 2024 alloy, with a lower density. This datasheet covers ALCAN 6056 in several tempers as thin extrusions. The alloy possesses, in several tempers, a superior combination of weldability, high-strength, and corrosion resistance. This datasheet provides information on composition and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming and heat treating.
