Abstract
Alcan 2098 and 2x98 are Al-Cu-Li-Mg-Ag alloys designed to provide a balanced combination of high strength, low density, fatigue resistance, and fracture toughness for aerospace applications. This data sheet covers Alcan 2098 and 2x98 Al-Li fuselage sheets. The O and T82P tempers show improvement over the 2024 alloy. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming and heat treating.
