AL TECH B-47 is a chromium-tungsten-cobalt-vanadium steel with excellent resistance to shock and abrasion at elevated temperatures. Its good hot hardness enables it to handle many hot-work jobs without washing out or changing size. B-47 has very good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures where typical applications include extrusion dies for brass, hot-punch tools and forging-die inserts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-484. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.
