ABFX SPA Alloy is a casting alloy that is unsurpassed in an application where no other alloys have ever been successful a combined corrosive and erosive environment typically characterized by fluids with 2.5 to 4.0 pH with abrasives present. This alloy is relatively brittle and after hardening it has a tensile strength of about 95,000 psi and a compressive strength of 360,000 psi. Typical applications are pump parts, mixers and coal-gasification components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: CI-47. Producer or source: Abex Corporation, Engineered Products Division.

ABEX PACE is a modified high-chromium iron alloy. Its composition is balanced to achieve a unique microstructure. PACE (Protection Against Corrosion/Erosion) was developed to replace stainless steels and abrasion-resistant alloys in applications where abrasive and corrosive environments exist simultaneously. Its predecessor, ABEX SPA ALLOY (Alloy Digest CI-47, January 1979), achieved remarkable results in a limited acid pH range, but the PACE alloy extends these properties to all environments, and incorporates enhanced machinability. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as joining. Filing Code: CI-52. Producer or source: Abex Corporation, Engineered Products Division.
