UNS No. G10460 is a general-purpose construction and machinery steel. It can be used in a variety of conditions: hot rolled, annealed, normalized, oil quenched and tempered, water quenched and tempered or austempered. It furnishes medium strength and toughness at a low cost. It is frequently used for flame or induction-hardened parts. Its many uses include axles, bolts, pins, shafts and forgings. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: CS-104. Producer or source: Carbon steel mills.

AISI 1095 is a high-carbon, water-hardening tool and spring steel of low hardenability. Depending on the properties required, it may be used in the astrolled, annealed, normalized or liquid-quenched-and-tempered condition. It is hardened by austenitizing and quenching in water (preferably) but it may be quenched in oil if a less drastic quench meets requirements. Its many uses include springs, bushings, drills, hay-rake teeth, pins and ball bearings. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: CS-99. Producer or source: Carbon steel mills.

BLACK DIAMOND STANDARD is an electric-furnace-melted, water-hardening carbon tool steel with an excellent reputation for use as the standard in general shop tools requiring extreme toughness and resistance to shock and impact. In the lower carbon ranges (0.50-0.70% carbon), it is used primarily for tools such as pins, punches, hammers and sledges. Black Diamond may be expected to give uniform and consistent results, although no definite limits of case depth or grain size are regularly guaranteed. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-281. Producer or source: Crucible Specialty Metals Division, Colt Industries.
