Bethlehem Lukens Plate (BLP) C1119/C1144 Modified steels are resulfurized carbon steels containing nominally 1.15% Mn and 0.20 to 0.33% S to provide a free-machining steel. They are recommended especially for high-production automatic machining. They have relatively low hardenability. Their ductility and toughness are reasonably good in the longitudinal direction, but they tend to be low in the transverse direction. The many uses include mining equipment, bushings, bolts, and gears. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-436. Producer or source: International Steel Group Inc.
